Sweeney Todd is a character who first appeared as one of the protagonists of a penny dreadful serial entitled The String of Pearls (1846-1847). Claims that Sweeney Todd was a real person are strongly disputed by scholars, although there are possible legendary prototypes, arguably making the story of Sweeney Todd an example of an urban legend.

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (often abbreviated as Corpse Bride) is a 2005 stop-motion-animation fantasy film based loosely on a 19th century Russian-Jewish folktale version of an older Jewish story and set in a fictional Victorian era village. It was directed by Tim Burton and Mike Johnson, and filmed at 3 Mills Studios in London. Johnny Depp led an all-star cast as the voice of Victor and Helena Bonham Carter (for whom the project was specially created) voiced Emily, the title character.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a 2005 fantasy film directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp. Based on the 1964 Roald Dahl children's novel of the same name, the film also stars Freddie Highmore as Charlie Bucket and is the second film adaptation of the book. It is also the second film based on a Roald Dahl novel worked on by Tim Burton after producing James and the Giant Peach (1996).

• A modern form of Beauty and the Beast love fantasy happened between an imperfect robot and a teenage girl. One of the best movie from Tim; Johnny's sorrowful facial expression as Edward was really impressive.

Cry-Baby ★★★★
A funny musical from 1990 directed by John Waters

• One of the early performance of JD as a good looking juvenile delinquent, Cry-baby. I thought this movie had inspired Stephen Chow to depict the script for the film Hei kek ji wong.
